It would not be an exaggeration to say that 2025 was truly a "golden" year for our boxing. At the world championships held by two different organizations, our national team showed great results, once again proving in practice that Uzbekistan is one of the leading boxing schools in the world. Only one thing is somewhat regrettable: such enormous achievements somehow seem to be less widely recognized.
First of all, the first World Boxing Championship in the history of world boxing was held in Liverpool, where our men's team achieved a sensational result: 6 gold medals! This is not just a victory, but a record figure. In short, the whole world heard the news that "we have arrived" in the ring.
The next destination is Dubai. Here, at the IBA World Championship, another historic event took place: Asadkhoja Moydinkhojayev became the first Uzbek boxer to become a three-time world champion among adults. Yes, this is, in sports terms, a "het-trick." And it's not a "coincidence," it's pure labor, pure character.
Previously, there were two-time world champions in our boxing history: Ruslan Chagayev (1997, 2001), Abbas Atoyev (2007-2009), Bakhodir Jalolov (2019-2023), Abdumalik Khalokov (2023-2025) and Hasanboy Dusmatov (2023-2025) - each of them won two gold medals.
But Asadkhoja opened a separate line in this list. He rose to the highest step of the podium both at the 2023 Tashkent Championship and at the 2025 World Championships held by two organizations and managed to write a unique history in Uzbek boxing. Creating such a series means not only mastery, but also a stable psyche and championship discipline.
The conclusion is one: the results of 2025 are not "ordinary statistics" - this is a further strengthening of the Uzbek boxing brand, a strong motivation for the new generation, and a live signal to the whole world. Now the task is clear: not only to remember these achievements, but also to continue them in 2026. Because if you shine once in the ring - it's good, but if you shine regularly - you become a legend.
