Uzbek judokas at the Warsaw European Open

The Polish capital of Warsaw is set to host the prestigious "Warsaw European Open 2026" judo tournament, starting today. This international event has attracted 320 elite judokas representing 27 different nations across four continents, all vying for top honors on the tatami. The competition serves as a significant platform for athletes to demonstrate their technical prowess and earn valuable ranking points on the global stage.

The Uzbekistan national men's team has sent a strong delegation of seven talented judokas to compete in this tournament. Four of these representatives are scheduled to begin their quest for medals during the opening day of the event. According to the official schedule released by the organizers, the preliminary rounds are slated to commence at 14:00 local time, with the highly anticipated final block scheduled to follow at 19:30.

The draw for the Uzbek athletes presents a series of challenging matchups against international opponents. In the -60 kg category, Bahrom Boturov will face the winner of the bout between Hubert Bedrzycki of Poland and Sergii Kim of Ukraine, while Muhammadjon Masharipov is set to take on Nurdaulet Mirambekov from Kazakhstan. In the -73 kg division, Hojiakbar Toshev will compete against the winner of the match between Ayhan Centenak of France and Augis Raulusonis of Lithuania, and Inoyat Telmanov will square off against Jakub Pek of Poland. Furthermore, Alisher Samanov (-90 kg) and Muhammadali Zoirov (-100 kg) are prepared to face their respective opponents in the later stages of the tournament. The Uzbekistan Judo Federation continues to support these athletes as they strive for success in Warsaw.
