Uzbek football legend Abdusamad Doʻrmonov has passed away

Uzbek football has suffered a heavy loss. Abdusamad Doʻrmonov, a former member of the national team, an Honored Athlete and coach of the country, and a true football veteran, has passed away at the age of 60.
Abdusamad Doʻrmonov was born in 1965 in the city of Termez. During his playing career, he played for the country's leading clubs and won the hearts of fans. In particular, he honorably defended the colors of Pakhtakor (1987–1989), Surkhon (1990–1991), and Neftchi (1992–2002) for many years.
His achievements with the Fergana-based club Neftchi hold a special place in his career. He won the Uzbekistan championship five times with the team, writing his name in golden letters in the club's history.
Additionally, Doʻrmonov was called up to the Uzbekistan national team between 1992 and 1994. He was one of the players who participated in the 1994 Asian Games held in Japan and contributed to the historic victory.
He was a person closely connected to football not only on the pitch but also in life. His family was also close to sports; he played for Neftchi alongside his brother Rustam Doʻrmonov, while another brother, Ravshan Doʻrmonov, played for the Surkhon club.
After ending his playing career in 2002, he turned to coaching, determined to share his experience with the younger generation. He worked as a coach for teams such as Neftchi, Yozyovon Lochinlari, and Istiqlol, and had been working on the coaching staff of Neftchi until his final years.
Abdusamad Doʻrmonov will be remembered not only for his results but also for his sincerity as a person, his diligence, and his loyalty to football. His name will remain forever in the history of Uzbek football.
