U.S. law enforcement has seized $1 million from a Russian-linked cybercriminal group, TechCrunch.com reported.
The group carried out numerous attacks using ransomware, which locks devices and demands payment from targeted organizations.
The seized funds will be used in part to compensate victims. U.S. officials described the operation as an important step in the fight against international cybercrime.
