Chrome now offers vertical tabs

Google has expanded Chrome’s vertical tabs feature to all users, bringing a browsing option that has already been available in browsers such as Edge, Firefox and Brave. The mode moves open tabs from the top of the window to a sidebar on the left. Reports Lifehacker.ru.

To turn it on, users need to enter chrome://flags/#vertical-tabs in the browser address bar, set the Vertical Tabs option to Enabled and restart Chrome. After that, the feature can be activated in Settings under Appearance by changing the tab strip position from Top to Side.

The new layout is designed for people who keep many pages open at once. The left sidebar can be resized, making it easier to manage screen space and view tab titles more clearly than in the traditional horizontal row.

Users can also pin tabs in the sidebar for faster access and continue organizing them into groups, much like the standard tab layout. The update gives Chrome users another way to customize their workspace and improve navigation between open pages.
