Braintrust AI platform warns of security breach

Braintrust, a startup focused on evaluating AI models, has advised its customers to immediately rotate their API keys. The company reported unauthorized access to one of its Amazon Web Services cloud accounts, as reported by Techcrunch.com .

In an email sent to customers, Braintrust confirmed that the compromised account contained secret API keys used by users to connect to cloud-based AI models. While there is no evidence of a large-scale data breach yet, the company is asking all customers to rotate their keys as a precautionary measure.

Company representative Martin Bergman stated that the incident has been contained, the compromised account has been blocked, and access permissions across systems have been restricted. An investigation into the exact causes of the security incident is currently underway.

Experts believe that the theft of API keys allows hackers to access company systems as legitimate users. Targeting third-party platforms like Braintrust can pose a serious risk to many corporate clients.
