RuStore user base surges: 3 billion downloads in six months
RuStore, the largest Android app store in Russia, recorded record-breaking figures for the first half of 2026. According to platform data, the number of downloads by users exceeded 3 billion in just six months. This milestone confirms the platform's leading position among alternative services in the region. Analysis shows that utilities and services for daily tasks remain the most popular categories among users, accounting for 22% of all installations. Financial applications (17%) and online shopping services (10%) also made it into the top three. This trend confirms that users' primary needs are being met through mobile platforms.
Most downloaded apps and games
According to the ixbt.com publication, banking and retail platforms lead the list of the most downloaded programs. Specifically, the following applications were in highest demand among users:- Sberbank Online;
- Max;
- Ozon;
- Avito;
- VKontakte.
Growing interest in the VK ecosystem
Over the past few weeks, there has been a significant increase in user interest in VK products. The number of search queries has increased by nearly 1.5 times, while installation rates for VKontakte, Max, and VK Video apps have grown by an average of 50%. This indicates that demand for content and social connectivity on the platform has reached a new level.Currently, RuStore hosts over 110,000 apps and games created by developers from 70 countries. The platform's monthly audience is approximately 68 million users. For users in Uzbekistan, this platform can serve as an important alternative source amid restrictions on the Google Play store.
