Gigabyte Graphics Card Prices Expected to Rise by Up to 40%

Price fluctuations for computer components, particularly graphics chips, on the global market are worrying users and industry experts. According to Ixbt.com, Japan’s major CFD-BIZ retailer warned its customers about a sharp increase in graphics card prices and openly apologized for it. The latest changes are expected to place an even greater financial burden on consumers. Ixbt.com reports on this.

While a 20–30% increase in graphics card prices in South Korea has already delivered a significant blow, the situation in the Japanese market is becoming even more serious. In an official statement to its customers, CFD-BIZ, one of the country’s best-known retail chains, said that prices could jump by up to 40%. Such a sharp increase will clearly have a serious impact on buyers’ budgets.

Why Are Prices Rising, and Who Is to Blame?

Retailers usually explain changes in pricing policies through general market trends or inflation. However, in this case, the Japanese retailer drew attention by directly naming a specific manufacturer in its statement. According to the company, the price revisions will apply specifically to products under the Gigabyte brand.

According to CFD-BIZ, the new pricing policy will officially take effect on August 1, 2026, and will apply to all orders placed after that date. It is not yet clear which types of models will be included or how broad the scope will be, as the final list may change.

In an address to consumers, the retail chain’s representatives apologized for the inconvenience caused:

  • We sincerely apologize to all customers for this sudden announcement;
  • The changes are being introduced because the manufacturer has revised its pricing policy;
  • Gigabyte graphics card prices are expected to rise significantly compared with current levels;
  • The new policy will take effect on August 1, 2026.
Analysts believe that although only one brand was mentioned, the situation will not be limited to a single company. According to market dynamics, other leading manufacturers may also gradually raise the prices of their products. Ultimately, this could lead to an overall increase in prices across the entire hardware market.

At this stage, it is not yet fully clear at what prices end consumers will be able to buy graphics cards or how realistic the expected increase will be. Nevertheless, technology enthusiasts and those planning to build gaming PCs should monitor the market situation closely.
