Young Uzbek Engineer Develops New Anti-Drone System

Uzbek young inventor presented a next-generation system designed to detect and neutralize drones. Called ARGUS-SYS, the project was demonstrated by young engineer Ikromjon Moydinjonov as part of the national Future Engineers competition.

The system reportedly combines AI and laser technologies, enabling it to automatically detect and target unmanned aerial vehicles. The development uses the YOLOv8 AI algorithm and optical transmitters.

According to the project’s data, the system is designed to neutralize drones at distances of more than 1 kilometer within a short time using a 500-watt laser with a wavelength of 405 nanometers.

The young engineer’s development in Uzbekistan shows that interest in modern technologies and engineering projects based on AI is steadily growing.
