Volkswagen's new Gnascent sodium-ion batteries unveiled

Gotion High-Tech, a major shareholder of Volkswagen Group, has officially unveiled its new Gnascent sodium-ion battery brand. This new technology is expected to be a major turning point in the energy storage systems market. This is reported by Ixbt.com .
The company introduced three types of battery models and established mass production lines in Tangshan and Hefei. Gnascent batteries can withstand up to 20,000 charging cycles, meaning they are designed for long-term use.
The technical specifications are impressive: the batteries retain 88% of their capacity even in -40°C cold and do not ignite even when heated up to 400°C. These features make them an ideal choice for use in extreme climate conditions.
Gnascent technology is protected by over 90 patents. The production process utilizes advanced cathode materials such as layered oxides, polyanions, sodium, manganese, and iron pyrophosphates, as well as hard carbon anodes and special electrolyte additives.
