The government of Uzbekistan has introduced new measures to regulate salary payments and simplify labor relations in specific economic sectors. These decisions were announced at a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Authorities are cracking down on informal employment and under-the-table salary payments, focusing particularly on construction, trade, and catering sectors.
Key changes include:
🔹 Introduction of short-term and simplified labor contracts, making it easier to legalize temporary and seasonal workers.
🔹 The preferential 1% social tax rate is extended until 2028, but will now apply only to employees under 30 years old earning at least 3 million UZS.
The tax benefit applies to:
* Retail trade and catering
* Hotel business
* Passenger and freight transportation
* Vehicle repair and maintenance
* IT and household appliance services
* Agricultural and veterinary services
* Entertainment centers
These changes aim to reduce informal employment, support youth employment, and develop the service sector. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
