The two countries closely cooperate within the framework of international organizations and financial institutions, including the UN and the OIC. Two rounds of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries have been held.

On the basis of the Agreement on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation signed on January 19, 2004, a joint intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation was established. The ministers of finance of the two countries were appointed as its co-chairs.

On October 16-21, 2024, Uzbekistan-Kuwait business forums were held in Tashkent, Fergana and Syrdarya regions. In May and August of that year, business forums and Made in Uzbekistan exhibitions were held in Kuwait.

On the eve of Shavkat Mirziyoyev's official visit to Kuwait, an Uzbekistan-Kuwait business forum was held in the capital of this country on February 15. New investment agreements and trade contracts were signed at the forum, which allowed the two countries to significantly expand relations and increase the volume of trade in a short period of time.
