Rainy weather increases the risk of floods: residents of 10 regions should be warned!

According to the official information from Uzhydromet, from May 28 to June 2 of this year, due to increased rainfall in several regions of Uzbekistan, the risk of mudflows and flooding may rise. In particular, citizens living in mountainous and foothill areas, tourists, and drivers on the roads are urged to exercise caution.

Experts state that mudflow and flood situations are possible in the main mountainous regions of the republic. Below are the regions where the risk may increase:

- Kashkadarya region — Yakkabog, Dehqonobod, Chiroqchi, Kitob, Shakhrisabz, Kamashi, and Guzar districts;

- Surkhandarya region — Sariosiyo, Uzun, Altinsay, Denov, Boysun, Sherobod, Shurchi, Kumkurgan, and Muzrabot districts;

- Samarkand region — Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurobod, Kattakurgan, Payariq, Koshrobod, Jomboy, and Ishtikhon districts;

- Navoi region — Khatirchi, Navbahor, Nurata, Konimekh, and Karmana districts;

- Jizzakh region — Zomin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Forish, and Yangiabad districts;

- Tashkent region — Ohangaron, Boʻstonliq, Parkent, Piskent, Urta Chirchiq, Yukori Chirchiq districts, and the cities of Angren and Almalyk;

- Namangan region — Pop, Kosonsoy, Chartak, Chust, Namangan, and Yangiqoʻrgʻon districts;

- Fergana region — Sokh, Shahimardon, Fergana, and Besharik districts;

- Andijan region — Andijan, Asaka, Jalaquduq, Qoʻrgʻontepa, Paxtaobod, Izboskan, Khojaobod, Marhamat districts, and the city of Khanabad.

Local authorities are calling on the population to strictly follow safety rules. Citizens planning recreation, hikes, or travel in mountainous areas are required to take all necessary precautions. Drivers are also advised to proceed with caution on roads at risk of mudflows.

In these days of rapidly changing weather conditions, all our citizens are asked to be responsible and vigilant. Nature cannot be conquered, but with precautionary measures, the risk can be reduced — it is in our hands.
