It was reported that no valuable artifacts were damaged as a result of the fire that occurred in the center of Islamic civilization, Kursiv.uz reported.
According to the official statement, the museum exhibits intended for the center are kept in a separate building, outside the new complex. They are under constant supervision and full security.
It was emphasized that at the time of the incident, there were no Kaaba covers or other exhibits in the building.
Earlier, unfounded reports spread on social networks claiming that there were people in the building during the fire on August 19 and that artifacts were damaged. The center denied these claims.
For information, the construction work of the project has not yet been fully completed. The main contractor is the “Trest-12” company. Funding for the construction of the center is allocated by a special directorate under the government.
Foreign companies and designers have also been involved in the project.
