Wages are no longer solely determined by the state

At a meeting with representatives of trade unions, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined important tasks for further improving the remuneration system.

The head of state emphasized that until now, the minimum wage has been determined mainly based on the calculations of government agencies. However, starting from 2026, the Federation of Trade Unions, the Ministry of Employment, and the Confederation of Employers will also be involved in this process.

This new approach aims to better protect the interests of employees, form a fair wage system, and ensure stability in the labor market. The President also emphasized that human dignity is determined not only by wages, but also by factors such as housing, education, healthcare, and transport.
