Now, in the event of the death of a citizen of Uzbekistan who was in labor migration abroad, the costs associated with the return of his body to the Homeland will be covered by the state.
This procedure was strengthened by new additions to the Law "On Burial and Funeral Affairs."
According to the new norm, the costs of organizing the transportation of the bodies of our compatriots who died abroad during the period of employment will be financed from the Migration Fund. These funds will be allocated by the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers based on the requirements of current legislation.
It was reported that this law was adopted by the Legislative Chamber on July 1, 2025, and approved by the Senate on September 4, 2025. The document also introduces amendments and additions to a number of regulatory legal acts aimed at mutual harmonization.
It is noted that these changes serve to protect the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, as well as to protect family members of our compatriots who are in labor migration from excessive financial expenses. In addition, the mechanism of state financial support for the process of returning the body of the deceased to the Homeland has been clearly defined.
