Strict control over air conditioning use in Tashkent buses

With the summer season approaching in the capital, the issue of comfort in public transport has returned to the agenda. Following numerous requests and complaints from passengers, the Tashshahartransxizmat joint-stock company is introducing a new procedure for the mandatory use of air conditioners in buses.
It is reported that starting from May 7, cooling systems in buses operating in Tashkent must function according to established requirements.
According to current regulations, air conditioners in buses must be switched on automatically when the outside air temperature exceeds +28°C. At the same time, the temperature inside the cabin should be maintained at around +26°C for passenger comfort.
Officials emphasize that the new procedure is being introduced to create a more comfortable environment for the public in public transport. Ensuring air circulation and coolness in buses is considered a priority, especially during hot summer days.
In this regard, a number of strict measures have been set. Specifically, it is prohibited to deploy buses with non-functional or faulty air conditioning systems on routes.
Furthermore, technical audits in bus depots are being intensified. The task has been set to eliminate all identified malfunctions in cooling systems within a short period.
Control measures are also being strengthened. Regular inspections will be conducted by the state institution "Passenger Transportation Monitoring and Control." It was stated that disciplinary measures will be applied to drivers and responsible staff who fail to comply with the requirements.
Additionally, extraordinary training sessions have been organized for drivers on the proper use of air conditioning and climate control equipment.
Tashkent residents are welcoming this news positively. Many had been complaining on social media about the hot and stuffy environment in public transport. Now, passengers are expected to have the opportunity to travel in a much more comfortable and cool environment on buses.
