Great news for our compatriots who love to travel and for our entrepreneurs developing commercial ties between the two countries! The bonds of friendship and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the People's Republic of China have reached a new, higher level in the skies.

On May 28 of this year, our national carrier, Uzbekistan Airways, successfully completed the historic first flight on the Tashkent–Guangzhou route. The aircraft that took off from our capital was greeted with great honor on Chinese soil.

In this article, we will describe in detail the opening ceremony and the details of this new air corridor, which embodies beautiful traditions and great prospects.

Solemn welcome in China and the continuation of the Silk Road

The crew and first passengers of the Uzbekistan aircraft were welcomed with great celebration at the magnificent Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou, the center of Guangdong province, one of China's largest and wealthiest regions. The ceremony was attended by regional aviation leadership, airport administration, national airline officials, and leading Chinese media representatives.

During the meeting, Si Yaomin, Deputy General Manager of Baiyun International Airport, spoke enthusiastically about the importance of this route:

“This new route not only expands air traffic between two major metropolises but also holds great significance as a modern and solid continuation of the ancient Great Silk Road that has connected our peoples for centuries.”.

Trade-economic revolution and the joy of tourists

The launch of regular flights between Guangzhou, China's largest international manufacturing and trade hub, and Tashkent, the main transport and logistics hub of Central Asia, marks a new era in bilateral relations. This step will undoubtedly provide a strong impetus for the development of trade, investment flows, and cultural-humanitarian ties.

Furthermore, Chinese tourists have also welcomed this convenience with great joy. Foreign guests emphasize that the new flights offer an opportunity to get closely acquainted with Uzbekistan's unique and rich cultural-historical heritage. Now, they can fly directly to our country to see the blue domes of Samarkand, the ancient streets of Bukhara, and the living museum-city of Khiva with their own eyes.
