Rasheel Kaur, an assistant manager at Malaysian airline AirAsia, flies to her office every day. The woman lives with her family in Penang, and her work is located in Sepang. The distance between the two cities is about 400 kilometers.
Kaur's day starts at four in the morning, then she goes to the airport and flies to a neighboring city to be at work at eight. The one-way flight takes about 40 minutes. After work, the woman returns home on an evening flight.
Kaur says she decided to fly to work every day to spend more time with her children. Previously, she lived in a rented house near her office and saw her family only on weekends.
“Waking up at four in the morning every day is tiring. But when I come home and see my children, the fatigue disappears on its own,” Kaur said.
The woman began flying to work in January 2024. During this time, she even managed to save money. She says that when she lived in an apartment, her monthly expenses were $474, but now they have dropped to $316.
