Iranian President Refuses to Negotiate with Trump
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has made it clear that he will not hold any talks with US President Donald Trump. He hit back sharply at Trump, saying that talks cannot be held under strong US pressure.

"Do what you want" - Pezeshkian's firm response to Trump

According to state media, Pezeshkian said that Tehran will not accept Washington's pressure and threats.

"There can be no talk of negotiating while they (the US) are giving orders and threatening. I will not negotiate with you. Do whatever you want," he said.

However, it is worth noting that the main figure determining foreign policy in Iran is the country's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Accordingly, Pezeshkian's words may not be a complete expression of Iran's official position, but rather his personal views.

Conflicts between Tehran and Washington are intensifying

Relations between Iran and the US have become even more tense in recent weeks. Trump sent a letter to Khamenei calling for new talks on Iran's nuclear program. At the same time, he announced that military measures could be taken if negotiations were rejected.

In response, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei sharply criticized the US "pressure policy" and said Tehran would not negotiate.

"Some aggressive governments - I don't know a better word to describe some foreign leaders - are demanding negotiations. Their goal is not to solve problems, but to establish dominance," Khamenei said.

He believes that Washington, under the guise of negotiations, is seeking to limit Iran's nuclear program, military capabilities and influence in the region.

Disagreements over the nuclear deal and sanctions

The 2015 nuclear deal remains the main issue in US-Iranian relations. Washington unilaterally withdrew from the deal in 2019. Tehran has since partially suspended compliance with the deal and increased uranium enrichment.

Iran has now expressed its readiness for negotiations on its nuclear program, but the United States is demanding that additional restrictions and sanctions relief be tied to new conditions. This is further exacerbating the differences between Tehran and Washington.

What to expect?

With the return of Donald Trump to the White House, a policy of strict pressure on Iran has been reintroduced. The United States plans to tighten sanctions and force Iran to negotiate. However, Iran has made it clear that it does not intend to succumb to any pressure and will not negotiate with the United States.

The tensions between the parties may escalate, and the chances of reaching an agreement on the nuclear program are decreasing. This could have serious geopolitical consequences not only for Iran and the United States, but also for the entire Middle East region.
