Has a secret "deadline" been set for Ukraine and Russia?

Has a secret "deadline" been set for Ukraine and Russia?
Following reports that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had given a secret ultimatum to Russia, President Donald Trump also made a statement on April 18.

In response to a journalist's question, Trump said: "I want to see a peace agreement soon. There are no specific dates, but - soon."

US mediation - on a conditional basis

Trump openly stated that the US is ready to withdraw from mediation if there is no readiness for compromise:

"If either side makes the process difficult, we will say: 'You are a fool, you are a terrible person' - and we will stop all actions. But I hope that will not happen."

Will aid to Ukraine stop?

Trump did not give a clear answer, but he still believes in a negotiated solution:
- “The main thing is to stop the war. We expect both sides to be willing to do that.”

“Russia is not playing with me” — Trump’s position is clear

Trump:
- “Nobody is playing with me. I just want to help. I hope Putin is not delaying the process.”

Thus, he defended the impartiality of US mediation and his personal image.

What is happening?
- Russia-Ukraine peace talks are delayed.
- The US is exerting special pressure and influencing the process with various means.
- The direction in which the mediation will go depends on the current readiness of the parties.

What do you think: is pressure and ultimatums necessary for peace, or should diplomacy be conducted only with deliberation?
