Deputy mayor of Shymkent shot three times (video)

A murder attempt has recently caused widespread discussion in Kazakhstan. On the evening of April 21, an unknown person shot Deputy Mayor of Shymkent Ruslan Berdenov, Tengrinews reported.

Attack took place near the city government building
According to reports, the assassination attempt took place near the city government building. According to the victim's party colleague, Beibit Alibekov, the "deputy mayor" was shot three times.

Berdenov was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries to his thigh and shoulder. Doctors operated on him - his life is not in danger, but his condition is currently assessed as serious but stable.

Diagnosis: multiple vital organs damaged
According to official medical data, Berdenov had the following injuries:
- a penetrating gunshot wound to the right chest;
- damage to the lower part of the right lung, diaphragm, and intercostal arteries;
- hemopneumothorax (accumulation of blood and air in the lungs and chest cavity);
- injuries to the liver and abdominal cavity, internal bleeding;
- there are also injuries to the right kidney, shoulder and forearm;
- external bleeding and shock (hemorrhagic and pleuropulmonary).

Suspect detained - investigation launched
The suspect in the assassination attempt was detained and is currently being held in a temporary detention center.

A criminal case has been opened on this incident under the article of attempted assassination, and an investigation has been launched. Additional information is not being disclosed in the interests of the investigation.
