Currently, Ukrainian boxing star Oleksandr Usyk, the holder of the WBC, WBA, WBO, IBO, and The Ring titles in heavyweight, shared an interesting and unexpected memory in an interview with well-known British journalist Piers Morgan.
In the conversation, the champion recalled his childhood years and talked about an unusual event that happened back then. According to Usyk, he was a simple village boy who spent a lot of time in nature and doing ordinary rural work. During that period, something happened that left a deep impact on him.
“I was just a simple boy doing farming and cattle work. One day, while working outdoors, I accidentally walked near a horse. At that moment, the horse suddenly struck me hard on the head. I immediately lost consciousness and was clearly knocked out,” Usyk recalls those days.
The Ukrainian champion humorously referred to this episode as the first knockout of his life and added that it helped him develop resilience for many of life’s later challenges.
As a reminder, Oleksandr Usyk is currently one of the top heavyweight fighters in professional boxing. His next fight is scheduled for July 19 against IBF titleholder Daniel Dubois. In this match, Usyk aims to take another step toward becoming the undisputed champion in all divisions.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the bout, while Usyk is continuing intense training to defend his titles.
