The US is entering a new phase of strategic partnership with Kazakhstan

The US is entering a new phase of strategic partnership with Kazakhstan
Relations between Kazakhstan and the United States are deepening at a strategic level. At a meeting held this week in Washington, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu discussed further strengthening of mutually beneficial partnership. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The sides exchanged views in detail on a number of areas — from political and economic cooperation to energy, trade, logistics, and security. During the negotiations, particular attention was paid to regional and global security, including joint efforts to combat international threats.

With the aim of further expanding strategic partnership
Rubio and Nurtleu expressed their desire to expand the strategic partnership based on mutual respect and practical dialogue between Kazakhstan and the US. They decided to improve the bilateral investment climate, attract new technologies, and establish close cooperation between business communities.

In his speech, Murat Nurtleu emphasized:
"Kazakhstan is in favor of developing stable and beneficial cooperation with the United States, aiming for practical outcomes."

Kazakhstan’s role in energy and the C5+1 platform
During the meeting, the Kazakh side highlighted the country’s strategic role in the energy sector and in supply chains of important mineral resources. The US, in turn, stated its interest in expanding cooperation in this area.

Marco Rubio said:
“The United States is eagerly looking forward to creating new mutually beneficial economic opportunities through strengthening ties with Kazakhstan.”

In addition, issues of cooperation within the framework of the C5+1 format — a platform for dialogue between the US and Central Asian countries — were discussed. This mechanism plays an important role in ensuring stability and development in the region.

Security and combating illegal migration
The sides emphasized the need to coordinate efforts in international and regional security, positively assessed practical cooperation in combating illegal migration, and agreed to continue efforts in this direction.

Thus, relations between the US and Kazakhstan have risen to a new level not only in the economy but also in politics and security. This is an important step toward stability and growth in the region.
