Putin: Uzbekistan and Russia are beginning a new era in labor migration
According to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, Russia and Uzbekistan have agreed to jointly resolve issues related to labor migration. He stated this during a meeting with the heads of the world’s leading news agencies.

In his speech, the head of state noted that the population in Uzbekistan is growing rapidly, and these demographic changes are putting strong pressure on the country's labor market. This situation, in turn, is leading to an increase in the number of Uzbeks working abroad, especially in Russia.

"Thirty years ago, 15–18 million people lived in Uzbekistan, and now this number has reached 38 million. The population grows by about one million every year. These are very fast-paced demographic changes," said Putin.

Against the backdrop of these changes, the leadership of Russia and Uzbekistan — in particular, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin — have reached mutual understanding and agreed to organize labor migration in a systematic and stable way.

"We understand well the situation in the labor market. Therefore, Shavkat Miromonovich and I have reached an agreement on jointly solving migration issues," emphasized the Russian leader.

Preparing migrants in advance — a key goal
According to Putin, there are comprehensive plans to prepare citizens in advance who wish to work in Russia, to help them adapt to the Russian language and culture, and to provide them with legal knowledge.

"There are full plans in this matter. We will create a system that helps study the Russian language, adapt to Russian culture, and understand the work environment," he said.

Such an approach undoubtedly helps stabilize the labor environment in Russia and also serves to protect the rights and interests of Uzbek migrants.

Youth issues — a priority direction
During the meeting, Putin gave special attention to the topic of youth. According to him, the development of ties between the youth of Russia and Uzbekistan is of great importance.

"Working with youth is itself a very important and valuable direction," he said.

He noted that the assistant to the President of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, recently visited Moscow and held meetings with representatives of the Russian government and presidential administration. During these meetings, Saida Shavkatovna paid special attention to expanding ties in the youth sector.

"On the instruction of the president, she is promoting concrete initiatives aimed at developing youth cooperation and strengthening cultural and social ties between the youth of Russia and Uzbekistan," said the Russian president.

Putin expressed his full support for these initiatives and stated that the two countries would work effectively together in this area.

Labor migration — a strategically important direction
The Russian side considers cooperation with Uzbekistan to be of strategic importance. Proper organization of labor migration and preparation of citizens to meet Russian conditions will serve the mutual interests of both sides.

Today, with the growing number of labor migrants, issues of legal protection, language knowledge, and professional training are among the most urgent.
