A video recorded in the Han River in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, has shocked and frightened internet users worldwide. The mysterious creature captured in the footage has sparked discussions not only among locals but also among global bloggers and analysts.
The incident became known through a video titled "A real monster has appeared in the Han River in Seoul" posted on the YouTube channel Jungdam Story. Within hours, the clip garnered thousands of views and hundreds of comments.
The video’s author was fishing at night when he noticed strange movement in the water. Initially, he thought it was a big fish, but upon closer inspection, he realized it was something much larger and longer. The footage shows a dark, elongated creature moving across the surface of the water. Frightened, the fisherman dropped his gear and quickly fled the scene.
According to him, the creature remained in motion for about 20 minutes. Its estimated length was up to 10 meters, with a body significantly thicker than a human’s. The fisherman also claimed to have seen two separate movements, suggesting there might have been two creatures.
Viewers began proposing different theories:
-
A giant python or alligator;
-
A water rat or otter;
-
A camera glitch or illusion;
-
Some recalled the movie Parasite and warned the fisherman not to return;
-
Others saw it as a sign of myths and legends coming to life.
Not the first time
Interestingly, a similar case occurred back in 2022. A viral video from the same river turned out to be footage of an ordinary water buoy. However, in this new video, the creature is clearly moving — and viewers took it seriously.
