Forced displacement in Gaza, protests continue in Israel
Due to Israel's continuous attacks, thousands of residents of Gaza City's Zeitoun neighbourhood have been forced to leave their homes. According to Gaza's civil defence agency, at least 40 people were killed across the territory on Saturday.

The Israeli government plans to seize Gaza City and relocate most of the population to camps in the south. The army announced that the delivery of tents and essential shelter supplies would once again be permitted. However, the UN strongly criticised this plan.

Local officials said that 80% of the city's infrastructure has been destroyed, while the few remaining hospitals are operating under difficult conditions. According to the UN, more than 1.9 million people in Gaza have been forced to leave their homes. At the same time, deaths caused by hunger and a lack of medicine are increasing.

In Israel, thousands of people took to the streets to protest against the government's plan to take over Gaza. Roads were blocked, train services stopped, and many shops were closed. Protesters are demanding the release of hostages and an end to the war.

In October 2023, a Hamas attack killed 1,200 people and 251 others were taken hostage. Since then, more than 61,000 people have reportedly been killed in Gaza as a result of ongoing military operations.
