In the Indian city of Jammu, the police encountered an unusual and astonishing situation: a letter warning about a bombing at the capital's railway station was delivered via pigeon, and the pigeon was arrested. This was reported by local law enforcement authorities.
The incident occurred on the evening of August 18 in the Katmaria area, near the border with Pakistan. The pigeon had a note attached to its leg with text in Urdu and English: “Kashmir Freedom,” “Time has come,” warning about a possible explosion at the railway station.
According to special sources, this is considered the first threat letter delivered via pigeon in India. Previously, balloons, flags, and various writings from Pakistan had been observed, but sending a letter via pigeon is happening for the first time.
The police have strengthened security measures. The station and the railway surroundings are guarded by additional forces, dog handlers, and sappers. Specialists are trying to determine whether the incident is a simple joke or a carefully planned scheme.
Experts believe that the pigeon may have been specially trained, so law enforcement takes such unusual threats seriously. They are using all possibilities to investigate the situation and try to find out who sent the letter and for what purpose.
The incident surprised the Indian public and demonstrated that pigeons can also carry serious threats. Security measures in the capital and border areas are currently maintained at the highest level.
