The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a strong statement on the causes of the famine unfolding in the Gaza Strip. According to Ankara, this situation is the result of Israel’s long-standing military crimes and systematic violations of international law, which have gone unpunished.
The statement emphasized that the report prepared by the IPC monitoring group under UN support clearly demonstrates the devastating consequences of the policies carried out against Palestinians in Gaza.
“The genocidal course of Netanyahu’s government and its ruthless treatment of Palestinians have led to a humanitarian disaster of unprecedented scale. Most alarming is that Israel’s continuous impunity for war crimes and violations of international law emboldens it further, turning it into an increasingly dangerous aggressor,” the statement read.
It should be noted that according to the UN-backed IPC monitoring group, over 514,000 Palestinians in Gaza are currently suffering from famine. By the end of September, this figure is expected to rise to 641,000 people.
Experts stress that these figures indicate a worsening crisis in Gaza, which is becoming a severe humanitarian tragedy. Turkey is calling on the international community to take decisive measures against Israel.
