On the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day, President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a video address to the people and the international community, voicing important points. According to him, Ukraine will never again agree to the humiliation called “compromise” and will continue its path with honor and determination.
In his speech, the president emphasized that now Ukraine is not only being listened to but also taken seriously. “We are not being told: ‘Wait outside,’ on the contrary, Ukraine is sitting at the table as an equal. And today we are being told: ‘You decide by yourself,’” — Zelensky said.
In his opinion, both the US and Europe today recognize that Ukraine has not yet achieved victory, but most importantly — it has certainly not lost. This indicates that Kyiv’s position in the political and military arena is becoming increasingly stronger.
Zelensky also stressed another important point: “Ukraine is not asking for alliance, cooperation, advanced defense technologies or experience of courage. On the contrary, it is offering them.”
According to him, in relations with the European Union as well, Ukraine is seen not as a poor relative, but as a strong and reliable partner. “We say: we need the EU. Yes. But it also needs us. Everyone is acknowledging this truth,” — said Zelensky.
In his address, the president did not raise issues of territorial exchange or NATO membership. However, his statements indicate that a new stage is beginning for Ukraine and that it is being recognized on the international stage as a strong ally.
Thus, Zelensky’s speech on Ukraine’s Independence Day not only raised the spirit of the people but also once again showed the whole world that Kyiv firmly stands by its position.
