According to the spokesperson for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Guo Jiakun, China has expressed "serious displeasure" toward Japan. This comes after Japan's call for the international community to refrain from attending the military parade scheduled in Beijing in September 2025.
Guo Jiakun emphasized at a briefing that China expressed serious displeasure with this move by Japan and demanded an explanation. "Any country that respects history, learns lessons from it, and strives for peaceful and stable development will undoubtedly accept this without any objections," said Guo Jiakun.
This incident once again highlights the importance of China's historical victory. To mark the 80th anniversary of China's victory over Japan in World War II, a grand military parade will take place in Beijing on September 3rd.
According to sources, on August 24th, the Japanese government urged European and Asian countries not to attend the parade in Beijing. The reason for this, according to Japan, is China's excessive focus on history and the clear negative sentiment toward Japan.
It is expected that several world leaders will attend China's parade, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as leaders from Southeast Asia, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar.
However, European Union leaders, particularly in light of Vladimir Putin's attendance, have decided to boycott the event.
This incident is undoubtedly another indication of the ongoing political issues between China and Japan, which may lead to further escalation of their relations.
