In Russia’s Krasnoyarsk region, in the Kuraginsky district, a tragic incident occurred at the “Artyomovsky Mine” on August 26. According to the regional prosecutor’s office, a 30-year-old Uzbek man died at the scene due to a rock collapse.

Preliminary information indicates that the deceased Uzbek citizen, under a work permit, was performing drilling operations at the “Artyomovsky Mine,” which specializes in the extraction of precious metals. These operations were carried out to subsequently reinforce the rock mass. At that time, for unknown reasons, part of the rock collapsed, and the worker was trapped underneath. He died at the scene from the injuries sustained.

At the time of the incident, the mine was operating normally, and a total of 48 people were underground. No other workers were injured. Currently, safety posts have been installed at the accident site, and all actions are under control.

The Krasnoyarsk regional prosecutor’s office stated that an inspection of the employer will be conducted regarding compliance with labor protection and industrial safety laws. Specialists from the regional labor inspection and Rostekhnadzor are involved in the process. The possibility of initiating a criminal case is also being considered.

For reference, the “Artyomovsky Mine” specializes in the extraction of precious metals, where strict adherence to safety and labor protection rules is required.
