New registration procedure for labor migrants in Moscow

Starting September 1, a new and modern pilot project for registering foreign citizens for migration was launched in Moscow and the Moscow region. This was officially announced by the Moscow Multifunctional Migration Center (MMC).

Within the framework of the new experience, the use of the "Amina" mobile application is mandatory for citizens of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, and Ukraine. This innovative program allows foreign citizens to remotely inform the internal affairs bodies about their place of residence and its change.

During the registration process, every foreign citizen must install the "Amina" application on their personal mobile phone. Authorization is carried out using a foreign citizenship card, and if it is not available, access is also provided through passport data.

The application automatically transmits geolocation data to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. If a citizen does not show activity in the system within three working days, they will be automatically removed from the migration center registry. At the same time, individuals who violate the monitoring rules may be included in the "Register of Persons Under Observation."

According to the MMC, this pilot project is being implemented as an alternative to the current migration registration procedure. This modern system was developed to facilitate the registration of foreign labor migrants, monitor their legal status, and ensure effective remote monitoring.
