On September 6, an important energy forum - an international conference on "Investing in the energy sector and developing cooperation in Afghanistan" - was held in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. The event is aimed at strengthening regional cooperation in the energy sector, restoring Afghanistan's energy infrastructure, and attracting foreign investment.
The conference was attended by representatives of the government of Afghanistan, delegations of the Ministries of Energy of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan, as well as heads of the UN, EU, and other authoritative international organizations and diplomatic missions in Kabul.
One of the most important agreements reached within the framework of the event was the signing of a financial agreement between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan on the construction of 220-500 kilovolt power transmission lines and high-capacity substations. This agreement testifies to the fact that bilateral energy ties are reaching a new level.
Within the framework of the project, strategically important electrical infrastructure facilities will be built in Afghanistan. In particular, it is planned to build high-voltage power transmission lines and associated substations to provide stable electricity supply to the central and southern regions of the country.
