"I will not set foot in the capital of terrorists."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed to Russian leader Vladimir Putin to organize talks in the Kyiv capital. He announced this in an interview with ABC News. In his opinion, Putin's idea of holding a meeting in Moscow is actually a tactic aimed at extending time.

"Every day, when my country is under missile strikes and military attacks, I cannot go to Moscow. I will not set foot in the capital of terrorists," Zelenskyy said.

The President noted that it was regrettable that Ukraine did not participate in the previously planned meeting in Alaska. In his opinion, Putin received results there from US President Donald Trump that corresponded to his goals. Zelenskyy noted that the Kremlin leader does not express interest in direct dialogue with Ukraine, but rather welcomes a meeting with Trump with great enthusiasm.

Zelenskyy also stressed the need for additional economic and political pressure on Russia. "Some of our partners still continue to purchase Russian oil and gas. This is unfair. Russia's main weapon is energy resources. The most effective way to stop this is to completely abandon the purchase of all energy sources," he said.

The Ukrainian leader also touched upon the issue of security guarantees. In his opinion, only the national army can provide the country's defense. Zelenskyy emphasized the presence of strong Ukrainian troop positions in Donbas and noted that Russia would have to make significant sacrifices to fully seize this territory.

At the same time, he emphasized that the idea of creating a "buffer zone" was a big mistake, since in practice, "death zones" of 10-20 kilometers already exist.

According to Zelenskyy, Putin is putting forward unacceptable proposals because he is avoiding a direct meeting with Ukraine, which should be politically assessed as a Yemeni step.
