A world-famous Hilton hotel caught fire in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. According to the local publication Khabarhub, the hotel was deliberately set on fire by insurgents on the night of September 10.
Although firefighting operations were carried out at the time of the incident, it was not possible to save the building due to a pre-planned attack. Videos released by India's ANI news agency show hotel buildings completely burned and covered with soot.
Sources note that the Hilton Hotel incurred the wrath of insurgents after reports of its connection to the son of the leader of the ruling party of the Congress of Nepal spread. It is precisely this information that may have led to the implementation of the building placement campaign.
This was the next major fire in Nepal as part of the Generation Z riots. Earlier, the government building in the country's capital and the national symbol, the Singha Durbar Palace, were also burned.
