The longest flight in the world starts from Shanghai to Buenos Aires.

China Eastern Airlines is taking a historic step, preparing to operate the world's longest commercial flight from Shanghai (China) to Buenos Aires (Argentina). Flights carrying passengers will be operated by modern Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with a capacity of 316 people.

According to the South China Morning Post, the first flight will take place on December 4. The plane will cover a total distance of 20,000 kilometers. In the middle of the route, only a two-hour transit stop is scheduled in Auckland, New Zealand.

This route is expected to make Auckland a more strategically important point as an important transport bridge between Asia and South America.

The flight duration is also noteworthy: the trip from Shanghai to Buenos Aires takes 25.5 hours, while the return trip from Buenos Aires to Shanghai takes 29 hours. The reason for this is related to the direction of the returning winds.

Flights will be operated twice a week. The cost of tickets for the economy class starts from 1,500 euros, and for the business class - from 4,200 euros and above.
