In the Russian city of Saint Petersburg, a 23-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan died during construction work. It is reported that this tragic incident occurred on September 16 at the construction site of the new building of the Supreme Court of Russia.
Falling from height caused death
According to initial information, the young man, while working on scaffolding at a height of 15 meters, lost his balance and fell down. As a result, he received severe injuries and died before the doctors arrived.
Shortcomings in labor contract and safety rules
According to the North-Western Interregional Labor Inspectorate, the deceased worker did not have an official labor contract with the employer. In addition, during the inspection it is also being considered that labor safety requirements were not observed.
The leadership of the inspectorate notes that the main causes of the accident were the lack of personal protective equipment, insufficient control when performing work at height, and weakness of collective safety measures.
Official investigation is underway
At present, a special investigation is being carried out regarding this incident. During the investigation, it is expected that responsible persons at the construction site will be questioned, and proposals will be developed to strengthen labor protection rules.
Such cases once again show how important it is for Uzbek citizens working abroad to strictly comply with safety rules.
