China has launched a campaign against those spreading negative online sentiment

The China Cyberspace Administration (CCA) announced a two-month comprehensive campaign against content that spreads negative emotions in the virtual world. Simply put, the authorities intend to wage a tough fight against internet trolls and various provocateurs.

According to the reports, the main focus in this process is on advertising pages, short video platforms, and streaming services through social networks. The campaign takes action against aggressive promotions, or content that "reflects moods such as negative attitudes towards life, fatigue from living."

Another key direction of the movement is to curb the spread of "sanga culture," which is widespread among young people and arises due to economic difficulties and lack of jobs. It is noted that this not only affects the minds of young people, but can also negatively affect the mood of society as a whole.

According to The Register, social media algorithms often present content tailored to user interests, contributing to an increase in negative topics. Therefore, the new campaign is primarily directed against those who spread various negative opinions, groundlessly criticize themselves, and incite discussions.

At the same time, cruel and uncompromising materials disseminated through artificial intelligence are also prohibited. Internet trolls will be forced to hide, and conspiracy theories and false information will not be allowed. It is said that violators will be severely punished, but it is not specified what measures will be taken by the state.

Through these new measures, Chinese officials aim to purify the internet environment, foster a healthy mindset among young people, and strengthen control over the virtual world.
