In the Japanese city of Toyoake, starting October 1 of this year, residents were allowed to use mobile phones, tablets, game consoles, and computers for only two hours a day. The main reason for this decision was the increase in dependence on mobile devices among schoolchildren. City Mayor Masafumi Kuoki stated that this restriction was introduced to reduce the enthusiasm for technology among young people and promote a healthy lifestyle.
The mayor stated that this new decision has symbolic significance, and it is not intended to monitor its implementation or impose fines. The purpose of this is to effectively distribute the time produced from technological means and to emphasize that the population does not waste excessive time.
At the same time, the population is recommended to use technology at a healthy level and organize their daily time effectively. This step will help regulate the love of technology among young people and, accordingly, improve their mental and physical well-being.
