French President Emmanuel Macron has reappointed Sebastien Lecornu to the post of prime minister, Bloomberg reported.
According to the publication, this decision is seen as the latest move to maintain political stability and prevent another government crisis.
Lecornu had led the French government from September 9 to October 6. A day before his resignation, he announced the new government lineup, but opposition parties sharply criticized it.
On Monday, October 13, Lecornu will present the new state budget draft to parliament. If the document is not adopted, a separate law will need to be developed to fund the government.
Sebastien Lecornu was born on June 11, 1986, in the city of Aubonne. He served as France's Minister of Defense from spring 2022 to May 2024, and prior to that, from 2020 to 2022, he was Minister for Overseas and Outlying Territories.
