The European Union demanded that Georgia refrain from moving goods to Russia

The European Union officially presented the Georgian government with a list of goods prohibited for export to Russia and asked to prevent their re-export.

The letter from the EU Special Envoy for Sanctions, David O'Sullivan, was published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. It states that Brussels had previously sent a list of goods prohibited from exporting to Russia under 50 TN VED codes to Georgian officials.

"This list includes items of dual purpose and advanced technologies found in Russian military systems, withdrawn from the battlefield in Ukraine, or important for the development, production, or operation of these Russian military systems," the letter says.

Brussels called on the Georgian government to strengthen strict control to prevent these goods from entering Russian territory through transit or re-export.
