A new political vortex surrounding Jeffrey Epstein is intensifying in the US. On November 17, Donald Trump addressed members of the Republican Party, calling for support for the initiative to publish all materials related to the Epstein case in full in the House of Representatives.
On his Truth Social page, he emphasized that the Republicans "have nothing to hide" and called the claims circulating on the internet about his close relationship with Epstein a "false trick of the Democrats." Trump believes these accusations are "another manipulation by radical leftists aimed at casting a shadow on the Republicans' recent political gains."
Trump: "Tens of thousands of pages have been leaked in the Epstein case"
Trump recalled that the US Department of Justice has already issued a huge volume of documents related to the Epstein case. He noted that within the framework of this investigation, the possible connections of a number of major Democratic politicians - former President Bill Clinton, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, and LinkedIn founder Reed Hoffman - with Epstein are also being investigated.
Trump added that "if the Democrats had real evidence, they would have disclosed it long ago, before the elections."
New phase in Congress: The initiative to publish Epstein files in full
Trump's statement was made on November 12th after the Congressional Oversight Committee released new materials from Epstein's heirs to the public. Some documents suggest that Trump may have been aware of Epstein's criminal activities.
After that, members of Congress put forward an initiative to put to a vote a bill called the "Act on the Transparency of Epstein Files." It is expected that the project will be discussed this week, and all materials will be available to the public.
Trump - demanding a review of his opponents
Trump demanded that the Ministry of Justice and the FBI thoroughly investigate the connections of prominent figures such as Clinton, Summers, and Hoffman with Epstein, stating that the published records indicate that "a very large part of their lives were spent with Epstein."
Conflict among Republicans: Disagreement with M. Taylor Green
One of at least four Republicans who signed the petition for compulsory review of the Epstein Transparency Act was Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Trump, strongly dissatisfied with this action, even called him a "traitor" and openly stated that he would not see him as a candidate for governor or senator in the future. In this regard, Green announced that he had stopped supporting Trump.
Note: Why is the Epstein problem so relevant again?
Epstein was linked to accusations of sexual violence and exploitation of underage girls. The list of people associated with him - "The Epstein Case" - has been the most discussed topic in the USA for years. Although Trump promised to publish the full list during the pre-election period, this promise has not yet been fulfilled.
The controversy around this conflict escalated after Elon Musk's statement that Trump was also mentioned in the "Epstein Papers."
