Israeli military forces on Sunday, November 23, officially announced the killing of one of the high-ranking commanders of the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip. According to the statement from the Israeli Defense Forces, Alaa al-Hadidi, the head of the supply service at the Hamas headquarters, was eliminated during one of the large-scale operations conducted across the entire sector on Saturday.
The ceasefire regime is being violated
Currently, Israel and the Palestinian group continue to put forward mutual accusations regarding the violation of the ceasefire regime. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the airstrikes conducted on Gaza a day earlier were organized as a counter-strike for Hamas sending a fighter into Israeli-controlled territory. Netanyahu stated that five of the most influential members of Hamas were eliminated as a result of these strikes. However, Gaza health authorities, controlled by Hamas, announced that at least 20 Palestinians were killed as a result of the Israeli attacks.
The intense history of the conflict and grim consequences
The attack by the Hamas movement, recognized as a terrorist organization in the European Union and the USA, on Israel on October 7, 2023, caused the conflict in the Middle East to take on an even more intense turn. At that time, approximately 1200 people were killed, and 250 hostages were taken to the Gaza Strip.
During Israel's response war, according to the Hamas-affiliated Ministry of Health, over 67 thousand Palestinians have died, and over 169 thousand have been injured. These figures arose as a result of military operations and the continuous bombardment of the Gaza Strip.
