The most important events of 2025 for Russians have been determined

For the Russian public, the ending year 2025 will be remembered primarily for economic pressure and rising daily expenses. According to the results of the social survey "Levada-Center," published on December 23, a large part of the population indicated the increase in prices, taxes, and utility bills as the main event of the year.

34% of respondents noted that the most significant events in 2025 were the increase in prices for goods and services, the increase in VAT and recycling fees. According to experts, this situation comes to the forefront because it directly affects the daily lives of the population.

In second place is the meeting between Vladimir Putin and the current US President Donald Trump, which took place in Alaska. 29% of respondents assessed this summit as a significant political event of the year. At the third level were Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian cities and industrial facilities - this option was chosen by 28% of participants.

Fourth place went to problems related to the internet. Restrictions and disruptions in the operation of mass messengers, such as Telegram and WhatsApp, were a serious problem for 25% of the population. In fifth place was the expulsion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the territory of the Kursk region and the city of Suja - 23% of respondents considered this event significant.

Interestingly, the war in Ukraine itself was ranked only eighth in the survey. It was described as a "continuation of the special military operation," with 17% calling it the main event. In sixth place is the exchange of prisoners of war with Ukraine - 19% of participants considered this process significant.

Regarding overall estimates of the year, 63% of respondents considered 2025 to have passed "on average." Only 22 percent rated it as a positive year, and 15 percent as a negative one. It is noteworthy that the largest number of positive comments were noted among the age categories 18-24 and 25-39.

Also, among those who positively viewed Vladimir Putin's policy, 22% rated the year as good and 9% as bad.

For information, this social survey was conducted on December 11-19 in 50 regions of Russia, in which 1,618 citizens participated. The results clearly showed in which areas 2025 was the most painful for Russians and which issues were the most important.
