Russian oil exports have reached their highest level in the last two years. According to Bloomberg, due to delays in the process of unloading oil from tankers, supplied raw material reserves accumulate directly on the ships themselves.
In particular, as of December 21, the average daily volume of oil exports from Russia over the past four weeks amounted to 3.87 million barrels. This is the highest level recorded since May 2023.
At the same time, the volume of oil on board tankers in transit has increased sharply since the end of August. According to the data, this indicator increased by 48 percent and reached 185 million barrels.
The agency added that at least 20 tankers loaded with Russian oil are currently awaiting permission to enter the ports of China and India. This situation indicates an increase in traffic congestion in global oil logistics.
