Russian strikes destroyed infrastructure in Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Kyiv

On the afternoon of January 5, the Russian army carried out a series of strikes in a number of regions of Ukraine. The worst news came from Kharkiv: Mayor Igor Terekhov announced via Telegram that five missile strikes targeted the energy infrastructure. According to him, the damage was large, and the strikes fell on an industrial area in the Slobodskoy district.

The Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office reported that a 58-year-old employee of an enterprise located near the site of the attack was injured. Terekhov also noted that the attack was carried out with ballistic missiles. He emphasized that shelters, concrete, and metal protective equipment are important, but such powerful blows are pressure directed against not ordinary objects - heat, water, and people's daily lives.

At the same time, it was stated that restoration work in the city will not stop. Terekhov emphasized that, although the threat of a repeat attack persists, the Kharkiv people will rise again, launch, and continue life.

On the afternoon of January 5, the city of Dnipro was also hit by drones. City Mayor Boris Filatov stated that 300 tons of oil spilled onto the roads as a result of the attack. It was reported that utilities are carrying out cleaning work, sand and special mixtures are being sprayed. However, movement along Naberezhnaya can be practically impossible for 2-3 days.

Filatov also noted that civilian production is targeted. The report refers to a plant owned by the US company Bunge: according to the company, the Dnipro Oil Extraction Plant, which processes sunflower seeds, operates in Dnipro.

During the day, the consequences of the attack were also recorded in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. According to reports, two people were killed and three were injured. The Ukrainian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) stated on its Facebook page that the impact in the capital fell on a four-story building belonging to a private medical facility. On the night of January 5, the blow occurred at the level of the second floor, where the hospital's inpatient department is located. The deceased was found there.

The head of the Obolon district administration, Kirill Fesik, clarified that the building of this private medical institution was damaged as a result of falling debris. According to him, about 70 people were in the building at the time the debris fell.

The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Nikolai Kalashnik, reported the death of a 74-year-old man in the Fastov district and the damage to several residential buildings. Also, as a result of the Russian attack, the power supply was cut off in the city of Slavutich. Kalashnik reported that all important infrastructure facilities were transferred to backup supply, and heating and water were maintained in the city.

Every line of these messages is heavy. But the main spirit of the text is also clear: no matter how hard the blows are, people do not stop restoring - the struggle continues to sustain life, restart infrastructure, and maintain a normal daily routine.
