A 97-year-old woman died while waiting for an ambulance in Britain

97-year-old Babett Burge, a resident of Newport, UK, died after being forced to wait a long time for an ambulance, the Daily Mail reports.

According to reports, the elderly woman was found lying on the floor in her house. She was diagnosed with difficulty breathing and died a few hours later.

The forensic medical examination report indicates that the main cause of death was pneumonia. Also, a fracture of the left femur and prolonged immobility were assessed as an additional factor.

Specialists also identified signs indicating circulatory disorders in the body of the deceased. This condition usually occurs as a result of freezing or lying motionless for a long time.

Before the tragedy, a paramedic from a local polyclinic examined the woman and noted the possibility of a femoral fracture. However, instead of urgent hospitalization, he is scheduled to be taken to the hospital in 10 days.

During this time, Babett Burge remained at home and is said to have fallen again. Currently, an official investigation into this situation has begun.
