Local media reported that the US embassy in Baghdad was attacked by drones. As a result of the impact, a fire broke out in the area, and thick black smoke rose above the building.
It is not yet known who carried out the attack.
Iraqi security forces have completely closed the "green zone" in the center of the capital. Many Iraqi government agencies, as well as diplomatic missions of a number of countries, including the US Embassy, are located in this area.
Currently, the security of the territory is being ensured, and work is underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
