Iran declares Ukraine a legitimate military target

Ibrahim Azizi, the head of the Iranian parliament's national security commission, has issued a stern warning, stating that Ukraine is now considered a legitimate target for Iran. According to Azizi, Ukraine's alleged involvement in supporting Israel with drone technology has effectively drawn the nation into the ongoing conflict. He cited Article 51 of the UN Charter to justify this stance, suggesting that Ukraine's actions have compromised its territorial security in the eyes of Tehran.

While there is no official confirmation regarding a formal partnership between Kyiv and Tel Aviv concerning drone technology, the geopolitical tensions remain high. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously proposed sending Ukrainian operators to the Middle East to assist in intercepting Iranian-made drones, a move that has clearly escalated diplomatic friction. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has weighed in on the broader situation, asserting that the United States does not require assistance from Kyiv, emphasizing that American military technology regarding drone systems remains the most advanced in the world.
